Who they are:
1. Recipe Zaar
What they claim:
Welcome to the World's Smartest Cookbook & Cooking Community
Real people from all over the world have shared and rated more than 174,000 recipes and 51,000 photos.
What I've found:
The good thing about this resource is that there's a reasonable level of certainty that each of the recipes mentioned has been tried and tested by the contributor. I mean who, realistically is going to take the time to submit something they just found somewhere else? The down side is that many of the recipes are not as exciting as they could be, a lot of subtle variations on similar themes. However, having said that, its a huge site and rarely fails to give you something expliotable.

Who they are:
2. The Gourmet Sleuth
What they claim:
Quite unassuming, this one. They merely state that they are "The Gourmet Food and Cooking Resource."
What I've found:
Lots of very interesting recipes, some a little too pretentious for my taste, but you will always find something a little out of the ordinary to impress dinner guests.

Who they are:
3. Recipes To Go
What they claim:
Again, very few words, beauty in simplicity and all that, "Always find the recipe you need"
What I've found:
This is a real gem of a site. Their by-word is simplicity and most recipes have 6 or less ingredients. If you're on the go and want a very acceptable dinner party with minimal fuss in the kitchen, you'll find tha this site will suit your purposes more than adequately.

Who they are:
4. Leite's Culinaria
What they claim:
Hot Food, Dry Wit. One-armed mirepoix and other misadventures.
What I've found:
If you're looking for a comprehensive list of recipes, then Leite isn't for you. If, however, you wish to be entertained while you browse, his wonderfully crafted writing is a real joy.
"Traveling west between Nashville and Memphis, across the rhinestone buckle of the Bible Belt, I headed deeper into the South's other and equally worshipped belt — that of barbecue."
