I've long had a passion for gourmet cooking, but like most people have never had any formal training. This is about to change, as I've been seriously considering taking a college course on the subject. So where to start? The same place most of these adventures begin, by 'Googling'


I was absolutely thunderstruck to find that there are hundreds of schools and colleges in the US and elsewhere that are more than capable of meeting my needs. Initially I was interested primarily in French and Italian cuisine, but after spending a full day exploring the various institutions, I'm honestly little better off than I was before I started - too much information!!! I'm also starting to sway towards the orient.


I've decided to categorize my search and attempt to simplify it. I'll be using this blog both as a resource for myself and, hopefully an aid to others that may have similar interests in The Culinary Arts.


As the blog progresses, I'll be using a lot of information from a variety of sources, all of which I will endeavour to credit
